Kevin just sent me a preview of the prototype of the new fork that will be available soon for these binoculars.

Kevin Busarow, owner of Oberwerk.com offers a new and interesting high-performance giant binocular.
The BT-127XL- SD, in fact, is equipped with two apochromatic triplets (made up of FCD100 and FK 61 glass) with a diameter of five inches (127 mm).
The manufacturer declares that it was designed to be a perfect mix of high performance, lightness and purchase price.
Its focal length is 650 mm.
Even though there are two lenses with a triplet optical system, it was possible to obtain a weight of less than 11.5 kg.

The optical body is made of magnesium and aluminum and could be an excellent alternative for those who want more resolving power and brightness than a classic 100 mm, but do not have the space or money necessary to purchase bulky 150 mm binoculars.
This model will be available with the “Luna Pear” paint job, which we have already seen on the smaller diameter models.
A tripod has been provided Oberwerk TR3 hardwood tripod, with a specific anodized mount that will allow you to spend hundreds of hours observing the Sky and Nature.

The price includes Oberwerk Premium 30X eyepieces with a generous 70° apparent field of view. The 14 mm (46X) eyepieces are also available, while the 7 mm (96X) will allow you to begin making profitable long-distance observations, even of the Moon and planets. It obviously accepts astronomical eyepieces; we can't wait to test it at very high magnifications.
The set also includes a beautiful wheeled case, and pre-orders for these binoculars will be available starting in May.
The current suggested retail price for the US is $4995. The official Italian and European distributor will always be RPOptix.com
