Digital binoculars for birdwatchers and naturalists: the MatataLab Solvia ED 8×32 AI arrives.

Negli ultimi anni il mercato degli strumenti ottici si è evoluto rapidamente, introducendo non solo migliorie dal punto di vista delle prestazioni ottiche ma anche integrazioni tecnologiche che un tempo avremmo considerato fantascienza. È in questo contesto che si inserisce la proposta di MatataLab, azienda cinese conosciuta per le sue soluzioni innovative, che ha da poco presentato il Solvia ED 8×32 AI Binoculars.

Si tratta di un binocolo compatto con schema ottico 8×32 ED, pensato per ridurre l’aberrazione cromatica e restituire immagini più nitide e contrastate, ma con un’anima “digitale”: integra infatti un sistema di riconoscimento automatico degli uccelli basato sull’intelligenza artificiale, capace – secondo l’azienda – di identificare in circa un secondo oltre 10.000 specie, coprendo il 90% degli uccelli più comuni a livello globale.

 

Oltre a questo, il Solvia è dotato di funzioni di deblurring AI, stabilizzazione elettronica giroscopica ed elaborazione in condizioni di scarsa luce, caratteristiche che dovrebbero migliorare sensibilmente la resa fotografica e video. Interessante anche il sistema proprietario TrueFrame™, che allinea l’asse ottico al modulo fotografico per garantire che ciò che si vede sia effettivamente ciò che si cattura.

Il binocolo integra inoltre:

  • Schermo touchscreen HD da 2,8 pollici per la visione in tempo reale

  • Wi-Fi istantaneo per condividere foto e video tramite l’app dedicata Solvia Smart

  • Peso contenuto di 516 grammi, quindi adatto a escursioni e viaggi

  • Resistenza IP64 a polvere e schizzi d’acqua

  • Kit di espansione opzionale con bussola, GPS, filtro polarizzatore, batteria supplementare e luce ausiliaria

La campagna di lancio è attualmente in corso su Kickstarter, dove ha già superato i 220.000 dollari  c.a. di finanziamento in poco tempo, segno dell’interesse internazionale verso questo genere di dispositivi. MatataLab non è nuova al mondo della tecnologia: fondata nel 2017 a Shenzhen, oggi è presente in oltre 80 Paesi, con milioni di utenti e numerosi riconoscimenti nel campo del design industriale. Con il brand MatataXplore, l’azienda ha deciso di puntare sul settore ottico, e il Solvia ED 8×32 AI rappresenta il suo prodotto di punta dopo due anni di ricerca e sviluppo.
